Brutus and Cassius (with Cassius's servant) talking.

Summary

~Brutus is waiting and asking people where Cassius is so they can talk.
~Cassius comes to talk to Brutus because he is distraught.
~Brutus does not want to talk to him in public and around the army.
~Everyone leaves except for the two men so they can talk in private.

  • They are both upset with each other. Cassius is angry with Brutus because he left where the town was gathered after he spoke. Since he left, he did not get to hear Antony speak or help to calm down the crowds and have them reconsider. Brutus may be upset with Cassius because he is starting to think about the murder and how he maybe should not have done it. In this case, it is easier to blame someone else for something you did.
